Acute care is provided in a 25-bed unit for medical and surgical patients.

LABORATORY SERVICES
Clinical lab services are performed in the areas of blood banking; coagulation; hematology, general chemistry, bacteriology; urinalysis; pathology; histology and cytology.  Tests required but not performed in our laboratory are referred to clinical reference laboratories approved by the medical staff.  (225) 638-5750

DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING
Diagnostic studies such as general radiography, ultrasound, mammography, MRI, and CT scans are performed on-site and are interpreted by radiologists. (225) 638-5703

PHYSICAL MEDICINE AND REHABILITATION

• Occupational Therapy, specializes in the treatment of adults and pediatric patients with hand injuries, work-related injuries, and neurological disorders. (225) 638-5852
• Physical Therapy, specializes in the treatment of adult and pediatric patients with orthopedic and spinal disorders, sports injuries and hand injuries. (225) 638-5824
• Speech-Language Therapy, specializes in the treatment of adult and pediatric patients with communicative and language disorders and swallowing problems. (225) 638-5851

CARDIOPULMONARY SERVICES
The Cardiopulmonary Department located on the third floor provides diagnostic services and treatment for cardiac and pulmonary system disorders including functional testing of the heart and lungs and oxygen therapy.(225)-638-5757

SLEEP DISORDERS PROGRAM
This clinical program, staffed by sleep technicians, offers overnight sleep monitoring and the most up-to-date treatment for patients with sleep apnea, insomnia and narcolepsy.
