New State of the Art Medical Laboratory Now Open

Pointe Coupee General Hospital continues its efforts to improve quality of care for local health care consumers, most recently opening a brand new 6,000 ft² (560 m²) state of the art lab. PCGH Administrator Chad Olinde and Lab Manager Yvette Major Garrett announce that the new lab will provide 24 hour a day, 7 day a week lab services to meet the needs of the emergency room, as well as, patients admitted to the hospital.

PCGH to Expand with New Office Building

Pointe Coupee General Hospital (PCGH) held a ground-breaking ceremony on September 25, 2014, for its first major expansion in years, the Sisters of St. Joseph Medical Plaza and Hospital Laboratory, which will contain almost 17,000 ft² (1,580 m²) when it is completed, hospital Administrator Chad Olinde said.

Pointe Coupee General Hospital has been named as a best practice recipient in the key area of the Quality Index. Pointe Coupee General was the only Louisiana hospital recognized in the quality category. "We are extremely proud of this award. Mammography Department Receives Deficiency Free Survey

On October 19, 2012, the Pointe Coupee General Mammography Department had their annual Food and Drug Administration inspection. This inspection entails a review of the previous twelve month's Quality Control and Quality Assurance departmental data. Brandi Guidroz-Werchan, Lead Mammographer/QC Technologist, and Alana Moore Smith, Staff Mammographer/QA Technologist, perform testing and complete paperwork on a daily basis in preparation for this annual inspection.
