Outpatient Wound Care Clinic Now Open

Pointe Coupee General Hospital Wound Care Clinic treats patients with non-healing wounds that require an advanced level of care. Wounds typically treated at the clinic include those that are especially difficult to heal, such as diabetic, venous, and pressure ulcers. Internal injuries will also be treated at the wound clinic, including the late effects of radiation, osteomyelitis, and crush injuries.

PCGH Receives Excellent Clinical Ranking

In recent data released by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Pointe Coupee General Hospital was ranked 76 out of 1,134 Critical Access Hospitals in the United States in clinical quality. The analysis is intended to provide Critical Access Hospitals with an estimate of their performance potential under a scenario for the Critical Access Hospital Value-Based Purchasing program.

Grateful for the Sisters of St. Joseph

We are extremely thankful for the Sisters of St. Joseph who did so much for our community through their health care ministries at St. Joseph Hospital, 1950 — 1969, and Pointe Coupee General Hospital, 1969 — 1979.

Health Service District Sales and use Tax Renewal

The Pointe Coupee Health Services District is proposing the renewal of the 10 year, ¼ of 1% sales and use tax. The proposition will be on the ballot on Tuesday, November 8th. The 10 year sales tax was first passed in 1987. The voters of Pointe Coupee again passed the 10 year ¼ of 1% tax in 1997 and again in 2007.

Telecardiology Program

The program will allow a specialist from Our Lady of the Lake Heart & Vascular Institute in Baton Rouge to connect with the team of healthcare providers at Pointe Coupee General Hospital in real-time in order to provide patients outside of Baton Rouge with specialty care.

The Sisters of St. Joseph Medical Plaza Inaugural Anniversary

The Sisters of St. Joseph Medical Plaza has now been in operation for a year! The 11,000 ft² (1,020 m²) clinic is home to five family practice physicians and a nurse practitioner who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of "a wide range of illnesses and medical issues."

Veterans Monument Opens at PCGH

Led by Pointe Coupee General Hospital, Pointe Coupee Parish Police Jury, the American Legion, and numerous donations, the Veterans Monument was dedicated this past Saturday to great fanfare.
