Outpatient Wound Care Clinic Now Open

Pointe Coupee General Hospital’s Wound Care Clinic treats patients with non-healing wounds that require an advanced level of care. Wounds typically treated at the clinic include those that are especially difficult to heal, such as diabetic, venous, and pressure ulcers. Internal injuries will also be treated at the wound clinic, including the late effects of radiation, osteomyelitis, and crush injuries.

There is a multidisciplinary staff of clinicians including Summer Zettlemoyer, Nurse Practitioner, and advanced-trained wound care nurses.

Between five and seven million Americans experience at least one form of a non-healing wound annually and the incidence of these wounds is increasing by approximately 10 percent each year. Many of these individuals suffer from wounds that refuse to heal despite conventional treatment. These wounds seldom involve a simple answer.
