Donald W. Doucet, MD, FACP

Internal Medicine & Coroner

One of Pointe Coupee's most highly respected doctors is Donald Doucet, MD, FACP. He specializes in Internal Medicine and provides adult and adolescent care. Dr. Doucet is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the Fellow American College of Physicians. He also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine for Louisiana State University School of Medicine at Shreveport. In the summer of 2015, Dr. Doucet joined The Baton Rouge Clinic in New Roads where he is in practice with his daughter, Dr. Ashley D. Bordelon.

Dr. Doucet is a graduate of Louisiana State University Medical School. He has been practicing internal medicine in Pointe Coupee and St. Francisville (consulting staff) since 1985. He currently serves as the Medical Director for Pointe Coupee General Hospital and the Pointe Coupee Rehab and Nursing Home. Dr. Doucet is the Director of Compliance and Performance Improvement for Pointe Coupee General Hospital. He is a valuable asset to our team of healthcare professionals and is loved and admired by our employees.

Dr. Doucet was born in Opelousas and currently resides in New Roads with his wife, Madeline. They have three children, Ashley D. Bordelon and son-in-law, Gerald Bordelon, Patrick Doucet, and Maureen Doucet. In his spare time, Dr. Doucet loves to fish and is especially talented in wood-working. He is a member of the New Roads Lions Club.
