As we move into the spring season, the staff at Pointe Coupee General Hospital is excited about the new opportunities to continue to expand services and to serve the people in our community. We are also fortunate to be able to collaborate with some of the finest healthcare systems in our state.

Our partnership with Ochsner has enabled our Telestroke program which began in 2011, to rapidly grow beyond expectations. The program has helped to save the lives and prevent permanent damage to over fifty of our patients who arrived in our ER with stroke symptoms in the past year.

Our relationship with Our Lady of the Lake has paved the way for plans of a new medical office building which will house our current Lake physicians. The facility will consolidate the operations of these five physicians, and open the opportunity for additional specialist support.

Our advancements in healthcare information technology have positioned us well ahead of many hospitals in the area, and greatly assisted our providers in diagnosing and treating our patients.

Our renovations to the inpatient areas of the hospital have resulted in an updated appearance, as well as adding a hospice visitor's room for the families of the terminally ill.

The past year was an exceptional year for the improvement of hospital operations, and the staff at Pointe Coupee General will continue to focus on being your healthcare leader in our community.
