TeleStroke Program at PCGH Continuing to Expedite Patient Treatment

In May 2011, Pointe Coupee General Hospital implemented the stroke telemedicine program that provides access to a stroke neurologist at all times of the day and night. The Health Information Department is responsible for the security of the electronic and paper medical records. Health Information is also responsible for overseeing the timely processing, completeness, and when necessary, the retrieval of all patient medical records. Health Information has an eight member team, most of whom are cross trained with multiple certifications.
